My 2025 Fitness Goals

Hey there friend!

A new year is once again upon us, and with it comes the yearly reflection on all of our personal goals. As someone who has always been up for the challenge of taking everything I do a step further, please note that this new year is no exception and is FILLED with new fitness goals that I’m more than ready to tackle. So, read along as I tell you all about my 2025 fitness goals.

A Quick Look at 2024

But first, before we can set any real goals, we must first reflect on the previous year and everything that was accomplished! 2024 was met with some of my biggest and most proudest moments in fitness to date! I’m going to start with the biggest moment for me, and that was racing the 10K at the Bahamas Half Marathon in November. Back in May 2024, I could not run a mile without dying a slow and painful death. My 5k consisted of at least 5 minutes of walking and took me around 47 minutes to complete.

However, as time progressed and I followed a plan (aka downloaded the Runna app because let’s be honest, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing), I began to see so much progress in running. I began to run distances I never thought were possible for me and it honestly spoke to how strong I was. And it came with the added bonus of training with my favorite girlie. So safe to say, this was my proudest moment. You can read more about my running journey here!

The second is my first ever individual CrossFit competition “Da Box Games”. I placed 4th overall in this and shocked myself with just how much progress I had made since starting crossfit Never did I think my CrossFit. I had no idea I was that strong and I absolutely loved it! Challenging myself that weekend was easily one of the hardest yet most rewarding things of 2024 for me.

I also celebrated my one year CrossFit anniversary at HappyHour CrossFit. It’s absolutely insane to think that I’ve been there for over a year now. I’m going to write about this alot more in depth in another post, but for now all you need to know is HappyHour changed my life. The decision to join that gym has impacted my life in so many ways. I’ve experienced some of my most significant victories and setbacks within those gym walls. I’ve met some of the most amazing people that I pray are with me for the rest of my life; and most importantly:

I found confidence in myself and my abilities that has since translated well beyond the walls of HappyHour.

But … more on this later, I’m writing this in a coffee shop and trying not to cry. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, I’ve been coaching there for over a year now too!

All in all, 2024 has been by far my most impactful and challenging year in all things fitness. I’ve had the pleasure of setting goals and sticking to them as I made what once seemed impossible possible. And the human body is amazing, the way I’m able to set these seemingly unrealistic goals and then achieve them will never cease to amaze me. And not to mention the joy I’ve had doing all of this!

Now that we’ve gotten last year out of the way, let’s take a look at those 2025 fitness goals. I have thought long and hard about the things that I want to achieve this year. I am seeking new challenges that I will continue to prove just how strong I am. There is no better feeling than achieving something you once thought to be impossible! And that’s the mission I am on this year. To seek the present impossible and make it possible. Since fitness is so broad, I’ve divided my goals into three different categories: Competitions, Physical Measurable Goals and General Goals.

Physical Measurable Goals

As it sounds, these are goals that I’m using to measure my physical progress over the coming months. These are all weightlifting and running benchmarks I hope to cross in 2025. They might seem impossible to me right now, but that’s where the fun comes in as I get to push myself to levels I once thought were unattainable.

Bench press: 165 lbs.

Squat: 250 lbs.

Deadlift: 315 lbs.

Squat Clean: 175 lbs.

Squat Snatch: 85 lbs.

5k Time: 30:00

10k Time: 1:05

Half-Marathon: To finish loll. But realistically 2:40

Competitions

So, what good would all this training be without a good competition in the works! These are races I plan on completing this year. As the year progresses I’ll set official dates and loop you guys in, but for now you can get a preview into the races I plan to do now. Btw, you should definitely follow me on Instagram if you haven’t already, everything is documented in real time over there 🙂

2 half marathons

1 triathlon (sprint distance)

1 solo female Hyrox Competition

2 solo crossfit competitions

1 10k race

General Goals

These are all the other general goals that will aid me in achieving everything I mentioned previously. They aren’t measurable by any means, they are more lifestyle changes that I seek to implement and prioritize in the coming year to aid in my ability to show up better for myself and train harder.

Muscle Growth & Body Recomposition: As simple as it sounds, I want to loose more fat and gain more muscle in the process.

Nutrition: Whole foods and cooking at home are the way to go this year! Focusing on the fuel I give my body will help me to perform at my most optimal functions.

Recovery & Rest: What’s weird about me is I have no problem pushing myself to show up and constantly perform in a workout. Where it gets sticky is when I have to rest 🙁 I do not like to take a break. And if I’m being completely honest, this came to nip me in the butt a few times last year when my body just got so tired and I was forced to take a rest day or two. So this year, I’m going to be a lot more intentional about giving my body the rest it needs before getting to this point.

That’s all I have for you today friend! 2025 is truly going to be such a fulfilling year, I can feel it already. I leave you with my own words of wisdom, straight from Alexa’s brain.🤪

“Dreams only die if you let them”

So, as you read my goals, I challenge you to chase those dreams of your own. You are so much stronger than you think, and you can do so much. I’m rooting for you as you tackle your own 2025 fitness goals! Please feel free to share those in the comments!

Much love,

Alexa
